Get your tissues and feelings ready, Goodbye Christopher Robin is a tear jerker at times. Goodbye Christopher Robin is the emotional biopic about Winnie the Pooh creator A.A. Milne.
Growing up I was an only child. I spent a lot of time at home alone. The television was my babysitter and my friend. One of my favorite cartoons to watch was Winnie the Pooh. The cherubic bear who like me was a bit chubby but also friendly and helpful to his friends. I absolutely loved to watch and read Winnie the Pooh. I’ve often wondered how writers come up with such amazing storylines. As it happens, “Goodbye Christopher Robin” delves into exactly that question. It is the true story of how A.A. Milne and the time he spent with his young son after being injured in the war inspired him to write Winnie the Pooh.

As it happens, “Goodbye Christopher Robin” delves into exactly that question. It is the true story of how A.A. Milne and the time he spent with his young son after being injured in the war inspired him to write Winnie the Pooh. A rustic bear (which only vaguely resembles Winnie Pooh) Milne’s son receives and carries with him is the seedling for Winnie the Pooh. While the movie is a biopic the realness of the characters is stunning. The movie isn’t an emotional rollercoaster with twist and turns but the watcher does experience many emotions throughout the film.
The film showcases the power of love and more importantly how love doesn’t always come from those we think it should but it does come. If you’re in need of a real feel-good movie I urge you to treat yourself to “Goodbye Christopher Robin.”
