In just a few short weeks 2 of my 3 sons will be leaving home for college. The youngest is still home so we’re not emptynesters just yet… but we’re close. Making sure your young adult children are prepared when they are away from home is probably every parents concern. When they’re home you make sure they have clean bedding, soft pillows, washcloths and waste paper baskets. Many times these are items we don’t give a second thought when everyone lives at home. But, once they go away… These items take on a new meaning and have a sense of urgency. When I say urgency, I mean if they don’t have these items when they are away at school; it’s not as if you can pick them up after work and bring them home.
Attempting to turn a small bland dorm room into a comfortable place to sleep, study and live is no easy task.
Luckily for my boys’ I have vision, a wonderful imagination and……. at Home Store. at Home Store is my go-to-place for bedding and whimsical one-of-a-kind home products.
My oldest son’s room at home is done in navy blue and white. He was surprised to find his identical bedding with a cozy furry white pillow to take along with him to college.
A basket of thick white washcloths and stripped sheets were inexpensive and a must have. * I ALWAYS purchase white washcloths because my sons eczema doesn’t do well with the dyes in colored washcloths.
The stripped cushions below are for lawn chairs but we’re using them for extra seating when his friends come to visit and when not in use they can easily be stored under the bed or in the closet.
Buying non-family sized items like dirty clothes hampers and trash baskets help to keep things neat organized and clean. I like this hamper because it holds about a load of clothes and the insert makes the perfect laundry bag and can be washed with the laundry.
I know the college sends a list of suggested items to bring but at Home Stores brings those items to life. Bed in the bags, dream catchers, throws and everything you need to make dorm life comfortable is there. The choices are endless and the themes for college students like Adore, Flora, Prep and Simplicity are all bundles together for you to mix and match to your students taste.
at Home Store really gets your creative juices flowing when it comes to decorating small spaces like dorm rooms or student apartments.
My boys’ didn’t want the same color bedding so we’re going with Navy blue for my oldest son and Aqua blue for my middle son.
If your kids are attending college in a few weeks visit at Home Store for ALL of their bedding needs.
