When you’ve been married for many years people expect you to go away and spend romantic “get aways”, together. My husband and I have been together for over 27 years and we spend every Anniversary together with our kids, the fruits of our labor, as my husband puts it. This year we spent our Anniversary at The Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth. The experience was truly soul cleansing. The opportunity to be away from the city and the daily grind and just relax is invaluable.1. Nostalgia
Driving across the covered bridge somehow I was magically taken aback to another time and place. A quieter more simpler time. Breathing in the fresh air and taking in acres and acres of greenery I felt serene, un-rushed and unhurried. When you look up the word vacation in the dictionary the definition says : an extended period of recreation, especially one spent away from home or traveling. While I’m not one to correct Webster, the definition could clearly be replaced with, Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth, MI.
2. Fun for All Ages
When choosing a vacation destination, what ages does the venue appeal too is very important. Venues can be nice but if they don’t appeal to all ages this can be a setback. The Bavarian Inn Lodge is a family friendly destination location with the entire family in mind. From mini golf, to swimming pools, karaoke, dancing and dining, they truly have it all.
Eating while on vacation can sometimes be very costly as well as confusing. Somebody wants burgers, someone else wants chicken or fish, it can be a mood dampener on an otherwise lovely day. Luckily the Bavarian Inn offers several choices for even the pickiest palates. In addition to the Bavarian Inn restaurant, easily accessible by walking or shuttle, each hotel/villa has a dine-in bar and restaurants. We made dinner reservations prior to our arrival and all caught the shuttle to the restaurant. The family meal deal is so much food it’s like being served a sit down buffet.
4. Kind & Courteous Staff
Let’s face it we’ve all visited places we’ll never go to again, all because of rude and inattentive employees. A person who was so hell bent on not doing their job to your satisfaction that you vowed to anyone who would listen you would never go there again. Luckily The Bavarian Inn Lodge is the exact opposite of THAT place. From the concierge to the shuttle bus driver and everyone in between, my family and I were super impressed with their knowledge and kindness.
5. Close to Shopping & Parades
When you drive too Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth, MI. Birch run is just a few miles away. Also right down the street from Frankenmuth is the world’s famous Bronner’s Christmas Store. Bavarian Inn also host festivals and parades with a full summer schedule. While we were there it was the start of the German Festival and we were able to see some pretty sweet motorcycles.
