While I’ll probably never be described as an art aficionado I do enjoy and love the beauty of pretty framed pictures. In my opinion a picture, print or portrait should be enjoyed by the owner no matter what the cost of the piece.
My framed photograph pictured above is called Blackberry Tulips (Love), I received it from Framedart.com and I LOVE it. The inscription reads:
Love is the Beauty of the Soul
I find those words to be profoundly uplifting and simply beautiful. Surrounded by the beautiful Blackberry Tulips warms my heart whenever I look at it. If this was written on a plain piece of paper I probably would still frame it. But the Print it’s printed on is beautiful. The frame the print is encased in enhances the print.
The site has a huge list of very inspirational prints and photographs. It was extremely difficult to choose only one. I also enjoyed many of the pictures of places and re-prints by famous artist like, Vangogh’s starry nights was one of my favorites. When I’m trying to choose a portrait or photograph to place in my home, it’s not like choosing and outfit to wear. Pictures and photographs should reflect the homeowner in my opinion. They’re also going to adorn your walls for many years to come so they require a certain amount of time and patience when choosing the right one.
All of my family and friends know Purple is my favorite color. It has been for a very long time. I am simply drawn to the color Purple. However, I cannot decorate my entire home in Purple…. the men in my house would Never go for that. Instead, I try to accent a room with a Purple “piece” whenever I can. A photograph, a print, a vase, even fresh purple flowers allow me to insert my favorite color throughout my home.
I chose a black frame with an in-laid brown trim for my framed photograph. While I am extremely happy with the finished project; in hindsight I probably should’ve picked a brown frame if I was going to hang that picture in my dining room. In my own defense I was thinking more of the colors in the photograph as oppose to the color of my wall. The trim does add another dimension to the photograph as it mimics the wall color. Visiting, perusing and shopping on the framedart.com website was an enjoyable experience to me. The pages load very quickly and I didn’t experience any horrible popups or request to take a survey before leaning the website (I hate Popups on websites…IJS). The graphics on the website are exceptionally colorful and true. This is important because you know when your order a print. photograph from them it’s going to arrive looking as close as it does on the website. I learned through trial and error, so you don’t have to, when choosing the frame ensure that it blends it well with the color of your wall more so than the color of the picture, I think.
Does your spring cleaning include new pictures for your walls? What would you choose?
