Despite what some so-called experts may tout, stress is NOT overrated. Stress manifest itself in many different ways and is the leading cause to several disorders including insomnia.
As a mom, blogger, wife, cook, baker and a ton of other titles I can honestly say I’ve experienced stress at one time or another in my life. Over the years I’ve learned to control stress using different methods and techniques. Because of the success of my techniques I am better prepared to not only handle stress but prepare for it before it sneaks up on me. Listed below are my “Top 5 Ways to Relieve Stress“.
Tip #1: Recognize Your Signs and Symptoms
Stress affects everyone differently, knowing your signs and symptoms and when you’re about to be hit with a full on “stress attack” is half the battle. Do you feel a headache creeping around in your head? Is their tension in your neck or back? Perhaps your system manifest through your GI-System. Do you have an increased appetite or no appetite at all? That bubbling feeling in your stomach may not be the sushi you bought from the gas station for lunch ( but then again, it probably is). Once you know your signs and symptoms you can prepare and “Beat Stress”. RESCUE’s line of homeopathic stress relievers helps you stress less, stay calm and in control.
Tip #2: Know Your Triggers
For some of us taking a test is a part of everyday life while others become physically ill at the thought of sitting in a room in front of a standardized test booklet. Interviews, Funerals, Weddings, even traveling by plane are stress triggers for some. If you know what your triggers are, simply placing a pack of RESCUE Gum or RESCUE Spray in your purse to use in times of emergencies is a smart way to relieve potential stress.
Tip #3: Sleep is a “Good Thing”
The times we live in everything is go-go-go. We have cell phones to keep us connected to friends and family members twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Our phones, laptops and tablets also keep us connected to the outside world every second of every waking moment. Phrases like “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead” and “Sleep is Overrated” are definitely NOT TRUE! Sleep is essential and a necessary part of life. We need to sleep in order to LIVE! One hour before bedtime “Un-Plug” from the outside world. Turn off all of your electronic devices take a hot shower or bath and decompress. Prepare your body and mind for bed. Sleep is important so treat it as such. Be sure above all else to get at least 8 to 10 hours of sleep. You’ll find yourself to be happier and more alert. RESCUE Sleep Liquid Melts are a great way to insure a good nights rest.
Tip #4: Reduce Your Caffeine Intake
Hold On! Hold ON! Don’t shoot the messenger. I, like many of you am a “Confirmed Coffee Lover”. Nothing gets my gears moving and clears out the cobwebs in my brain like that first cup of java in the morning. However with caffeine staying in your system for six hours or more, drinking caffeine all day can definitely lead to you being up all night. Caffeine induced insomnia is a leading cause of stress. Sleep deprivation makes us cranky and can make it difficult to focus and stay on task. Try substituting one cup of coffee for something more organic like flavored water or a fresh vegetable smoothie.
Tip #5 : No Man/Woman Is an Island
The symptoms, the triggers and numerous causes of stress can be.. well quite stressful. But it doesn’t have to be. If you’re stressed and feel you’ve tried just about everything to no avail, it’s OK.
