Mastrad Ice Balls
Mastrad Popsicle Molds
June has turned out to be a month of celebrations which will prove to be very festive for my family this year. On the 8th of this month my hubs and I celebrated 24 years together, On the 13th my youngest son will be attending his 8th grade dance. Fathers Day is June 15, and on June 16 my youngest graduates from the 8th grade,… Whew!
If you’re overwhelmed by reading all of those celebrations then you can guess what I’m going through right now. The challenge is to make each celebration different. Not drastically but different appetizers or treats for the kids. My celebrations will be different because I’ve been experimenting with all of the cool products sent to me for review by Mastrad, maker of high-end kitchen accessories. Mastrad has taken the guess work out of entertaining and added the whimsy.
- Ice Balls : Ball shaped ice for slow dilution of drinks/added flavors
- Muddler Straw set of 6: perfect for mojitos and other summer drinks
- Silicone Popsicle molds: make ice cream or fruit bars
The Ice Balls mold is a 4 pack set with stand included. Imagine all of the fresh fruits, liquors or pop you can add to these molds to wow your guest. I added a fresh fruit compote of strawberries, watermelon and pineapple juice. I froze them for about 1 hour and then added it to my lemonade. It not only chilled my lemonade, as it melted it turned to a slushy strawberry lemonade. It was very refreshing and so easy to make. I plan to make several batches to serve during my son’s pre-dance festivities.
Another option is to add coffee, freeze to make a frozen coffee drink. You’re only limited by your imagination. The molds are made out of silicone so they are easy to release and easy to wash and rinse.
The silicone popsicle molds are so easy to use you can get the kids in on making frozen treats for the entire family. My boys loved the chunks of fresh fruit in each bite, I loved their were no artificial flavors or added sugar.
I used the same ingredients for the popsicles as I did for the ice balls. Fresh strawberries, fresh watermelon and unsweetened pineapple juice. I’ve been unsuccessful so far this year in locating fresh mint leaves so I used the muddler straws to gently crush the fruit. You can also use a blender for a smoother treat but my boys’ enjoyed eating the chunks of fruit.
The popsicle molds give you two options: on the popsicle or eat directly from the mold as a push pop, perfect for younger kids. Molds stand upright for easy filling. I can’t wait to try all kinds of fruit and to also make ice cream in these easy to use molds.
If you’re entertaining or celebrating this summer and want to impress your friends Mastrad has a whole arsenal of easy to use molds, citrus juicers and skewers to take your party to the next level.
