JET is launching a new weekly digital magazine app later this month. The new app, scheduled to launch June 30,
will be available on all tablet devices and mobile platforms. It will
feature weekly updates on entertainment, sports and news of importance
to our readership, as well as enhanced functionality for the Beauty of
the Week. June 30 is JET App Day.
JET magazine, initially billed as “The Weekly Negro News
Magazine,” is noted for its role in chronicling the early days of the
Civil Rights movement. The publication is now transitioning into an
all-digital format. The new weekly digital magazine app will leverage a
variety of storytelling tactics, including video interviews, enhanced
digital maps, 3D charts and photography from the JPC archives. The
