I am a confirmed wine drinker. While I will occasionally drink tequila and on very rare occasions drink beer I prefer wine. The cool crisp taste of Gallo Family Vineyards Moscato wine on my palette is heaven.
If you’re not familiar with Moscato let me tell you it’s sweet and mellow. It not harsh or bitter like many wines can be. It’s very friendly and inviting and pairs well with most foods without leaving a bitter aftertaste. Some may think of Moscato as more of a dessert wine because of it’s sweetness but I like it alone, or with foods not just with desserts. In a nut shell, it’s my go-to wine. I always keep a bottle or two on hand for my personal consumption and for friends when they stop by.
During the summer I often make cocktails with my Moscato wine. It’s a nice twist to an already tasty beverage. Because of the natural sweetness of the Moscato a dash of grenadine or a squeeze of fresh in season fruit remarkably changes the flavor and makes it perfect for summer cook outs and BBQ’s.
The versatility and delicious sweetness of Moscato make it the perfect base for a cocktail. Gallo Family Vineyards has created a series of delicious wine cocktail recipes using Moscato, including the refreshing punch below. Punches are the perfect way to entertain in a group as they can be prepared beforehand and leave the host free to enjoy spending time with guests!
Also, a great tip for decorating is to cut a slit in the corks pulled from the wine bottles and slide in a card to label the food choices in an easy and elegant way. Then, once the party is over, be sure to use your Gallo Family Vineyards corks to donate to Meals On Wheels Association of America through the Every Cork Counts program.
