effort to reverse holiday weight gain due to overeating, many people join
Weight Watchers. Every year the world’s
leading provider of weight management services absorbs a big piece of the
weight loss market not only because of its proven success record but also
through enticing promotions and deals, some of which are shown in various blogs
and coupon sites like WeightLossTriumph. This January dieters save up to 50%.
like many others was a middle age woman who was overweight, unhappy, and
looking for change. Since she could remember she had always compared herself to
perfection, and because reaching perfection was impossible, she was in constant
disappointment. Being overweight most of her life, Pam felt that her obesity
defined her. It was all anyone saw and thought of her. Pam wanted to leave an
impression that went far past her weight.
January of 2012, Pam decided to commit to changing her health for the better.
She joined Weight Watchers not anticipating that she would not only transform
her outer body but her inner self too. On the very first meeting, Pam remembers
sitting in the far back corner of the room, not wanting anyone to notice her.
During the meeting her heart became filled with desperation’s, hope and shame
all at the same time. She was ready to make a difference in not only her weight
loss but in her entire life.
Over her 14-month weight loss
journey, Pam learned life skills that will follow her the rest of her life.
Weight Watchers taught her portion control, what healthy eating looked like,
and that change is truly possible. Before Weight Watchers Pam thought dieting
simply meant depriving herself of the foods she loved. With Weight Watchers
that wasn’t the case. Instead she was able to enjoy the
foods she loved while trying and learning to make healthier choices. The
program taught her how to eat, how to move, and patience.
her journey started with a desire to be skinnier and to not be defined by her
obesity, Pam’s goals were altered during the process. Instead of having a set
weight as her goal, she now works towards better health and well-being.
Weight Watchers Pam discovered that she actually loved eating fruits and
vegetables—a big surprise to her—and that she had to stop beating herself up
whenever she slipped up. Each week as she lost more and
more weight, Pam rewarded herself with new, pretty clothes to reflect her
pounds lighter, Pam is embracing her new-found freedom. She enjoys racing her grand-kids up and down the driveway and even putting on a poodle skirt and roller-blades. Her new color of choice is red and she now enjoys wearing
anything that sparkles.
her outward transformation is incredible, Pam had an even greater inner
transformation. She now treats herself with the same care and grace that she
happily gave to those she loved. She, and others, no longer define her as
simply obese. Instead Pam now describes herself as funny, smart, strong and klutzy,
a good wife, daughter, friend, and teacher. Most importantly Pam realizes she
is more than just a number.
