always wanted to purchase property and rent it out to low income families. The
Dream of becoming a landlord is not one shared by my husband. He feels the
overall project would be one that would cause our family grief and frequent
visits to landlord/tenant court.
have made up in my mind to pursue my real estate venture. I’ve secured a real
estate agent and I’ve signed up to all of the sites that list homes for sale in
my area. I found the Detroit real estate market to be saturated with homes for
sale. The key is to find homes that have not been burned or pillaged to the
degree that it would take more to fix than it’s worth. Because I have a knack
for finding diamonds in the rough I am confident I will find a home in my price
In fact I’ve found brick homes in once affluent
neighborhoods under $3,000 needing only ptacs units and new windows. These homes are definitely worth the price,
to me. However, I’m still looking because new homes are added to these sites
daily. My brother in-law is a heating and cooling expert and I often take him
along with me when I go to see these homes. His expertise and willingness to assist is invaluable.
the past few months I have learned a lot about purchasing homes as well as necessary
maintenance required for a home’s upkeep. Right now I still consider myself a
novice which is why I haven’t taken the plunge and
purchased a house yet. Although everyone knows it is the realtor’s obligation to inform the buyer of everything wrong with a particular property, I have been surprised at how many things they do not disclose. I am currently looking for a local distributor of amana ptac parts since it seems most of the homes in my price range require these units.
My current venture may be a long term goal but is definitely one I plan to pursue. I will continue to read and learn as much as I can before I take the plunge. Do you have any current ventures you are considering?
