Flip Flop Wines has been on my “Wine Favorites” List for the past several months. I’ve had the pleasure of trying most of the flavor options they offer. I have been more than satisfied with all of the ones I have tried. Even the Reds, which I am not a very big fan of. Although my personal favorite is the Moscato. I really enjoyed the smoothness of the Riesling. While not as sweet as the Moscato, the Riesling is to me like, Moscato’s older bolder sibling. LOL.
With the upcoming Holidays I know many of you will be looking for wine to have on hand for guest or maybe just to un-wind during these hectic times. I definitely recommend any of the Flip Flop Wines. They are smartly priced at under $15 a bottle and widely available. They pair very well with all types of foods and appetizers.
Here is my recipe for Pineapple Cheese Ball which pairs wonderfully with the Flip Flop Riesling. The Pineapples and cheese really compliment the acidity of the Riesling. Serve with Sesame Crackers, your guest will be impressed!
Festive Pineapple Cheese Ball
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup minced celery
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 teaspoon minced onion
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 cup chopped pecans
In a medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, celery, bell pepper, onion, and crushed pineapple. Divide the mixture in half and form two balls out of the mixture. Roll each ball in the pecans. Chill until ready to serve.
